HI All,
I've been in the scrap box today using up some of the old papers that have crept to the bottom.
I haven't a clue whose papers they are. Noah is a digi stamp I won from kelleykids. I paper pieced him and coloured his face with copics. Heat embossed dream stamp from creative collections ex Joanna Sheen. Faux stitching stamp from Hero arts and card candi I dunked in a stamp pad to get blue colour.

Got a card done this morning before it gets too hot in my craft room. The summer weather hasn't really settled yet but improving. 'fingers crossed'
My daughter is with me for a month before she goes to the UK to live. She is such good company and I will miss her. Yesterday she twisted her ankle.......oh no!! Spent the whole day at the hospital.

Hi All,

This is my first card for 2012. I have had a hard time over christmas and new year. My mum went into hospital before christmas and they would not let her go back to her home because she needs 24 hour care, so they put her in a resthome. I had her house to clear out and furniture to sell over christmas and new year when everything is closed. Still clearing up her paper work, everytime I go round a corner I hit a brick wall. Maybe this week will improve.

Hi all,

As I type this the fire siren is sounding. Always an eerie feeling that somethings happened. The dog next door is howling. Lets hope its a false alarm.

I have been working on a canvas today. Yesterday I coated it with gesso, then applied some teabags that I have been drying out over the past few days with mod podge. Then I stamped them with tim holtz, la Blanche and stampin up stamps with distress ink. I needed to dry them with the heat gun because the ink wasn't drying and I kept sticking my hands on it. It worked. Added bits and pieces of my stash.

Today I have been playing around with a shadow box type card. I saw one somewhere and its taken me nearly all day to work it out. Anyway here it is.

Morning all,

I would like to welcome Alison to my followers. Thank you for joining me. Good start to the week, Two days and two top three awards. Thank you to crafty pad for my white card and craftysentiments for my spotlighting.

Now before I go off to take my Mum for her weekly shop, I have made an atc for
atcchallenges where the theme is add some lace. I did that alright - I adhered some double sided paper to my base and added the lace all over for a background. I heat embossed my rubbadubbadoo stamp with copper powder, added pins and buttons.

Hi All,
A great weekend was had with my daughter, Deanna. She went home yesterday and it's so quiet here since she went. We talked, laughed, ate [well, she ate even though she said she was on a diet] We went visiting, ate, chilled out, ate, shopped, ate and so on. My pantrys nearly empty today and she wondered why she was feeling sick and having nightmares. You gotta love em!!
She's off to live in England,where her husband lives, soon so was nice to have this time together before she goes.

Hi All,

It's blowing a gale here today and not as warm as it should be for spring. Not a great start to the weekend. It will get better because my daughter is coming over for the weekend. I've made a couple of atc's for the challenge at atc challenges where the theme is "vintage". Couldn't decide which one to enter so am entering both if thats ok.
The first one i have named "a family of six". Used an old playing card. Embossed sticky back gloss paper with cuttlebug, added a vintage photo after I sanded the edges.
The second I named "Lost a penny" I stamped the background with a Tim Holtz collage stamp and distress inks. creased photo and ripped a piece off the corner. Added some stash.

Welcome to Sandra who joined my followers. Well, I have been back from Australia for two weeks and not had a minute to spare to get onto my blog. Went to a craft show in Melbourne and bought some new stamps and dies. Winter marci is one of my new stamps from Lala Land. The card I have made is for the challenge at creativecraft where the theme is "Fancy edges" I cut my card with spellbinders diecut and around the stamp with a nellie snellen diecut. Hi,
I have made another card today. They are just showing a world cup rugby game on tv as i type this and John is glued to the set. The second game today and two more to go. OH BOY!!!
The challenge over at cards for men has a sports theme so what better than to use the world cup. My card shows the 20 badges which I cut with nestie diecuts on black and gold. sentiment heat embossed with gold. gold candi embellishments. It's cloudy and wet today so I found it hard to get a good photo with the card being black.

Also for the challenge at thesquirrelanthefox where the theme is 'make it sporty'

Wow, too nice to be inside today, we have a perfect spring day, no wind and not a cloud in the sky. Must be great for all the tourists we have over here at the moment for the world cup.
Only 16 more games to play out of the 48.
While the game was on last night I made this tag. The backing paper is from grace taylor.

Hi,

Hope you all had a good weekend. Late for the tag tuesday or maybe I'm just catching my tail. lol. The tag had the theme of "recycled" so I wondered around the house seeing what I could find. This is what I have come up with. Puzzle pages out of the tv guide which i collaged and applied with mod podge, then added old pieces from game sets. The tie is a baby wipe that I coloured with distress inks.

Rugby World Cup 2011

I just had to show you these tags. I have just done a tag swap with 2o talented ladies, one for each country in the world cup. This is what they look like, 420 of them altogether. Gosh, what a super day here. It's a real dinkum spring day. Hope it's here to stay for the weekend.

My skinny for the craftymess challenge is Autumn colours. So I chose Tilda who I coloured with pencils, added some leaves and peelcraft which I coloured brown.

This atc is for the challenge at atcchallenges where the theme is something that represents you.
I just had to make it Indoor Bowls as I have been playing every winter for as many years as I care to remember. Embossed card with cuttlebug and added clipart, nellie snellen dies and yes, a photo of myself playing in a championship.
Finally this atc is for the atc lottery over at craftymess and the topic there was to do a hand drawing and as I cant draw I kept it plain and simple. Used aqua pencils for background, outlined my drawing with sukara pens and coloured with crayola pencils.

Hi,
A quick post today. An atc for the challenge at atcchallenges where the theme is "Owls".
I used my cuttlebug embossing plate which I have had for ages but not used. I sanded the edges and embossed the owl with copper embossing powder, then added embellishments.
My 20 tags for the rugby world cup book have got lost in the post so I am busy remaking them.
There are 20 doing the project one for each country, so better get back to it.

Hi,
Over the past week I have been playing around with some canvas's I pick up from time to time, stick them away and forget all about them.
I painted the larger canvas white, then the smaller one black, used a stencil with white. I adhered the smaller one on top of the larger.
My squares are scrapbooking paper scraps which I coated with paper effects to give it a faux tile look. The bird is a stamp I heat embossed with bronze. going for the faux metal look.

Good Day for cardmaking

Hi, We're still getting rough weather here. Into the 5th Day. We are having lightning and thunder as I type this. BUT it is good for staying in and crafting.

Atc for the challenge at atcchallenges. theme anything goes/household.

Image from junkingypsies, I printed three and decoupaged the cook. Stamped around edges, went over printing with sakura pens. Added embellishments.

At magnoliastamplovers the theme is 'summer flowers'. This is my take. Nestie frame which I embossed with a copper powder. Faux stitching is my hero arts stamp. coloured tilda with copic markers and pencils. Added embellishments.

On this card I used Rosie background papers and AC cardstock. coloured Tilda with copic markers and pencils. nestie, marianne dies. Flower is nestie die cuts and I curled the petals using my quilling tool, then sprayed with glimmer mist. stamped around edge of image.

Hi, Hope your weekend has been going well. Boy, have we had a wild and windy one. John has been on call all weekend and I think he had three hours sleep all weekend fixing problems caused by the storm. Train control tells us that there was 1,000 lightning strikes here and mini tornados.
My card today is for the challenge at Pink Gem where the theme is 'Let's hear it for the boys'. I've used some of my papers I purchased the other day from 'A Proper Gentleman Collection' The paper being double sided I used one side for backing and the image came from the other.

Hi,

Yesterday was my birthday so my friend, Heather and I went up to Wanganui. It took us an hour and quarter, but you dont notice the time when you're chatting all the way. We spent heaps of time in their scrapbooking shop, owned by an English Lady and she stocks 'docraft' products. The first time I have seen them in NZ. She was so helpful and showed us how to use some products. Nothing was any bother to her. We purchased a docraft embossing folder, marianne dies, lush papers, Tim holtz brads, my first copic pens and bits and pieces. Can't wait to use them all.

My first project here is for the challenge at C.R.A.F.T where the theme is boxes. I painted my box with brown acrylic [bottom image] used Mod Podge to adhere my images and paper effects to add beads and other embellishments, then painted with gold.Top

Below is a 'skinny' which is a 5 x 3 card similar to an atc. First using a thicker card, I crushed a tissue, added some distress inks then glued some acetate over the top. The theme is a quote or saying and this quote is from a sheet of karen foster rip out quotes. cuttlebug hearts with kindy glitz and added some embellishments from stash. For the challenge at craftymess.

Our atc lottery at craftymess this month is floral. my entry below has a stamp from Tim Holtz which I heat embossed and found a flower stamp also heat embossed then added envelope and words - lifes a journey.

Over at totallytilda the challenge is anything but a card, so I am entering a scrapbook layout of my granddaughter, Tracey when she sprayed her hair pink. Not showing up in photo very well, she is totally a redhead. Papers from Grace Taylor, inked doily, coloured Tilda to match tracey, stamped background paper.

Hi All,

I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks because of the National Indoor Bowls Champs.

Here is a couple of photos of me playing against one of the top players.

An awesome tournament with 950 entries.
You gotta check out our very cute mascot rigged out in our uniform.

Now for my challenges. The first one is for the atcchallenges where the theme is Fathers Day. Photos not clear today as its pouring with rain and not much light. Cuttlebug background with distress ink. Tie brad and buttons. rolled up book pages with a little distress ink.The second one is a scrap layout of my granddaughter, Anna who bought a polly pocket doll house with the easter money I sent her. Splashed paint on background. doily diecut from Nellies. The flowers are twirl cut circles and leaves from haberdashery counter at my local quilt shop.

I am entering it in the challenge at craftypad where the theme is 'something new'

atc's and card

Hi All,
Over at atc challenges the theme is Austin Powers. Here is my take on the theme. Background rainbow paper and I have followed the colour changes with peelcraft. Image is from google and I used paper effects on his glasses teeth and gun. Enhanced white with sakura pen, then added embellishments.

This atc is for craftymess where I won the atc lottery for May. My choice of theme for June and I also get to choose the a winner. How cool is that!!

On this card I have used Marianne and nellie dies. Added bling and used corner punch.

Still can't get my followers or anybody else's, if anyone can help. Have tried enabling cookies, taking followers off and on. much appreciated xx

Hi All,

Firstly, an exciting day won a challenge at thecraftgarden and also won the atc lottery at craftymess.

Another quick card today using a new Tilda stamp from the rainbow collection. This one is scarecrow.

I coloured her with pencils, nestie surrounds, rest from stash.

Why have all the followers disappeared on my blog and others. Cant join other blogs. No help from blogger help! Can anyone offer any suggestions please...
